The day BBC jam got caught up in a sticky mess.
The balance of fruit and sugar tipped when the public service remit was taken to mean commercial concerns would be affected. In a postmodern world, surely there’s room for public and private initiatives to work alongside one another?
At the BBC Innovation Labs, locked away in a luxury hotel for a week with Mr Nolan, working through ideas for alternative audio debates on arts and heritage. Getting the audience and their needs right is the prerequisite of a good idea, before matching this with a technology answer. But if it’s not enhanced by technology, it’s not an answer.
